    Overall Goal

    This scholarship award is to support leadership development of a female neurosurgeon based within the United States and who is early in their career. 

    More specifically, the goal of this scholarship program is to catalyze opportunities for female neurosurgeons to pursue educational and enrichment opportunities to expand leadership skills. 

    Details

    The scholarship award for this program is complimentary registration to participate in the CNS Leadership Institute, a year-long program, beginning with a 2-day in person course in Chicago, IL. and commencing with a report-out session during the CNS Annual Meeting, as well $1,500 in award funding.

    Award funding is to be used to cover expenses to support travel to conferences and meetings, including the CNS Annual Meeting.

    Requirements for Applying

    • Must be a CNS member in good standing (www.cns.org/membership)
    • Practicing female neurosurgeon who is based in the United States and who is at least 1 year into practice but no more than 10 years in practice
    • Be able to provide the following materials during the application process:
      • Letter of Recommendation from current Chair of Department
      • Current CV
    • If selected, applicant must attend both the CNS Leadership Institute and the CNS Annual Meeting within the same year
    • If selected, application must provide a brief statement (500-800 words) on how receiving a CNS Foundation award has impacted her career in a positive manner
